Shipping Information

Free shipping on all RV Solar Kits in the Continental U.S.  Free shipping also applies to products over $200.00.  All products under $200.00 will be charged an additional $13.95 shipping/handling charge.  For shipping to Hawaii and Alaska, shipping charges apply and will be charged as an additional purchase – please contact us for shipping rate.  We now ship to Canada – please call us for shipping rates! All orders ship 1 – 2 business days after payment is received.

We are not responsible for incorrect addresses provided on orders.  We do not ship to P.O. boxes.  Most items will ship via Fed Ex or UPS (smaller items may ship USPS Priority).  Please contact us if you want to use a different shipping method (additional charges may apply).  Kit orders may arrive in one or more separate shipments.

A confirmation email will be sent for all orders. All orders will also receive an email with a tracking number when the order ships and will be tracked by us until delivered. If for some reason you receive an email or confirmation for an order you did not place, contact us immediately at joe@back-countrysolar.com

When the shipment arrives the driver will ask you to sign for the delivery. If you want the package left without signature, please contact us when ordering (you will be responsible for stolen packages).  This is a legal document stating that the package is being delivered in good condition without damage and that the customer is waiving any additional claim from the shipper. Before signing, inspect the package(s) closely on all six sides. Note any box damage including scuffs, dents, tears, punctures or creases on the delivery receipt. If there is anything unusual with the package, the customer has the right to open it to inspect the contents. If the driver is unwilling to wait while you inspect all of the items, you may mark on the delivery receipt “Concealed Damage Possible”.

If there is damage to the shipment, then you should refuse the package and contact Back Country Solar.

Upon opening your packages, please inspect all items.  Note any indications of damage to the packaging.  This will help with documenting a potential claim.

At Back Country Solar we want you to have an unsurpassed shopping experience and want to make returning an item as easy as possible.  If you need to return an item, you may do so within 30 days, as long as it is unused and in the original packaging.  Custom orders (i.e. off grid kits) are not eligible for a refund. Any return for a refund may be subject to a 30% restocking fee if the products are returned in an original condition.  This fee may be waived for the following reasons: carrier damage, defective product, product does not match advertising, received incorrect product, product was an extra item not ordered.  Upon return of any item, the product and packaging will be inspected.  All electronic items will be tested.  If the product is in new condition and works per specs, a refund will be issued.

You will need to contact us at joe@backcountrysolar.com or 970-245-8046 to obtain an RMA # which is required to accompany all returns.  After obtaining an RMA #, please fill out the attached RMA form and include your RMA # on the form.  This form needs to be sent back with your item.

Q: What if my product stops working?

A: If you purchased the item within 30 days, you can return the defective product to us wih an RMA #.  We will need to determine if the damage is due to the manufacturing or our shipping process, in which case you will be eligible for a refund.  If the damage occurs due to improper handling during set up, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Note: Inverters, solar charge controllers, batteries and other electronic equipment can easily be damaged if installed incorrectly.  If you do not feel comfortable installing electronic or electrical devices, please contact us for assistance or seek the help of a qualified electrician. 

If the 30 day time-frame has passed, you will need to contact the manufacturer directly for warranty issues.

Q: What if I refused a shipment?

A: Any shipment that is refused upon delivery (except if damaged in shipment) will be subject to a 20% restocking fee, plus shipping costs.

Q: What if I buy the wrong products?

A: We cannot guarantee that the product you order will run with your specific application.  We suggest if you are unsure about what to buy for your application you phone or email us for assistance.  We are more than happy to help!
